Summary; Yachiru's perspective on reiatsu; a game.
Wordcount; 376

Yachiru thinks reiatsu is fun.

It makes her clothes flap in the unnatural wind, and it blows bits of the earth into her face.

And people's faces are funny. Always.

There's something exhilarating about basking in that killing intent. Feeling the tingle of death across her skin.

Perhaps it's because the first time she really felt it, the smile on Ken-chan's face was the first real one she'd seen on him. And that smile and the ruthlessness of the air are linked indelibly in her mind.

Perhaps it's because, even though her world used to be a world of crimson red, it had always been animal cruelty, without rhyme or reason. Reiatsu seemed to mean skill. And skill she could admire, wordlessly. Because it was Ken-chan's skill.

Perhaps it's merely because of the day she realized it didn't affect her the way it did others. Other people that Ken-chan fought always had that moment where they skipped a breath, they paled two or three shades, and they suddenly had a sheen of sweat break out across their skin. The stronger they were, the less they did all three, but there was always that moment of surprise. She learned early to associate the lesser reactions and the better fights.

But she never had that reaction. Breathing that bloodlusted air was as natural as living. Crawling, walking, running through that thickened air was just as easy as it could be. Ken-chan never had that moment either, so Yachiru didn't think twice about being the same way, other than to take a little bit of pride that she could do something that none of the people Ken-chan fought could. It didn't really occur to her that it meant she was strong.

Yachiru doesn't think about how easy it was to move in his reiatsu. It simply was. She got better at it because she got to be a stronger fighter. Because she and Ken-chan got stronger together. And because it was a good game, seeing how much of her own reiatsu she could hide in Ken-chan's. The better she was at it, the more Ken-chan had that grin on his face, the more she could leap out and surprise people.

Yachiru doesn't think this game will ever get old.
